Kaweco midnight blue vs royal blue

Kaweco doesn't put the name of their ink on the bottles, so when I wrote the review I just called it blue. A little research tells me that it's called "Royal Blue", but it doesn't really seem like a royal blue to me. It's closer to a periwinkle. The color has a pronounced purple tinge to it.

This is because it is a very soothing color and also because it reminds us of the skies and the oceans, both of which reflect blue colors to appear to us different hues of the color blue. Although I find this ink colour pretty unspectacular, at least compared to some of Kaweco's other colours (Paradise Blue, Palm Green), it's always good to have a safe blue. This one is well behaved and doesn't do much. It cleans well but also shades well, so I'll give it some credit there. A heavy weight with cool elegance made from stainless steel*. The Kaweco SUPRA is the big brother of the LILIPUT. There are several possibilities to screw this fountain pen together, for example the short version without cap and connecting piece, or the long version with connecting piece and cap.
